Was Impregnated by a Priest

Hello! My name is Uwayezu Claudine, was born and raised in Gicumbi city former Byumba. I am 53 years old and I am currently based in Kigali City of Rwanda.

My parents are the good Christians from Catholic church, when I was born I grew up in the same direction. I was baptized one year after my birth. My father and mother helped me pass through all Catholic norms. I was really happy about being in a Christian congregation. I was one of great choir singers and I was the one who led the Soprano, I was a charismatic.

One day when I was 20, I went to clergy house to bring a piano to play and I met with my priest, he greeted me and talked some jokes as we knew each other for long time as he used to come at home as he was a great of friends of my family. He asked me to come and have a drink at the clergy house, I accepted as I was not in the rush. At that place we have talked a lot everything. I was not someone who likes a lot alcohol but drinking it was not a problem to me.

After 2 hours talking to each other, I asked him to let me go and do other things but he asked me to taste the glass of wine. That wine was good and we started again talking to each other. We started sharing secrets, I revealed to him that I was a virgin and was planning to be a nun. He told me to that at the age of 35 he was still a virgin but kissed a girl when he was 18.

Things began like that and we ended kissing each other with the influence of alcohol until we went in his bedroom and had sex. After having sex, we were shocked and didn’t know what we did but we knew that we have been tempted by the devil. Even if it was a sin and did it unconscious, it does not mean that I didn’t have to meet with consequences.

After one month, I didn’t see my period, in the half of the second month I told the priest that I didn’t see my period and I am starting feeling uncomfortable and feel unusual in my body. The priest came to pick me at home and asked me to go to the hospital for a test. As he was known throughout Byumba, we went to Musanze and was tested positive. I was pregnant.

Knowing that I am pregnant, the Priest asked me if we can make an abortion and promised me to give enough money that will help me in my life, he told me that If I accept abortion, I will name anything and he will do it.

As a Christian I was shocked to know that Priest want me to kill my baby, I told to him: “Remember we are Christians, we have committed adultery and you want me to kill? My child?”. Angrily, he told me that if I don’t want abortion, he is going to make sure that the rumors spread that I am pregnant for his cow keeper and will make sure to convince the cow keeper to accept that. I said to him that I will not kill my child. He left me with no one in Musanze.

To be able to come back to Byumba, I called my father, asked him for a ticket, he asked me why I told him that I will explain everything after arriving at home. Arriving at Home, I saw my father and mother sitting in the living room, I sat down and explained everything to them. I told them the whole story and what happened in Musanze. They did not believe that my Priest could do such thing, they said that I am doing wrong things by Framing the serving of God.

They were not happy about what I did and they decided to chase me as it was a great shame for them. My Mother was against my father’s idea of chasing me but she did not have anything to do. She sends me three hundred thousand on my mobile money and I have used that money to go to search for a house in a rural area in Rusambya Site near Uganda. I Struggled a lot, I was alone, I used that money to rent a house of five thousand per month, I bought materials and I remained with 100,000 rwf. My family lied to my neighbors that I went in Kigali for University studies but I was struggling.

I started trading used clothes for different people, it was so exhaustive as I was pregnant without someone to help me. After 5 months, I started becoming very weak I started selling charcoals as wholesale to people from Kigali using my 400,000 That I saved. God blessed me so much in 3 months, I had saved 3 million on my account. As I was very weak, I hired someone to help me and I used to sit down only to receive money. Time went faster and I have given birth to a beautiful girl, I named her Miracle. After giving birth, I got enough time to do my business, I expanded my business to different sites of Gicumbi then I went to open other sites in Rulindo and Gakenke. After 5 years in this business of selling charcoals, I had on my account 60 million and 35 million in business.

I was really thankful and God was very nice to me. Currently I am a very respected wife after being married to one of my old friend from Rusambya when I was 33 years old. I have 5 children and 2 grand-sons.
